At Dreamwinds, we recognize the strong academic foundation you've already built through Asbury University's Equine Assisted Services program.
Rather than asking you to repeat what you've already learned, we've created an exclusive Advanced Standing Pathway that builds on your education while providing the proven Dreamwinds/Cartier framework, ready-to-use curriculum, business mentorship, and professional certification needed to confidently launch your career.
This pathway reduces duplication while preserving the live coaching, practicum, and competency assessment that make Dreamwinds certification so valuable.
Who Qualifies?
To be eligible for the Asbury Advanced Standing Pathway, students must successfully complete:
EAS 100
EAS 102
EAS 376
PSY 322 and/or PSY 323 (or approved equivalent)
A minimum grade of B in the required pathway courses
Students must also successfully complete all Dreamwinds certification requirements to earn certification.

Our blended learning format combines 3 mornings of live online instruction with three full days of hands-on learning, working with horses and real participants.

Answers to Your Questions About Dreamwinds EAL Certification
Do I Have To Have My Own Facility or Own Horses?
No. Many of our graduates parter with local barns, riding schools and therapeutic riding centers to use their facility and horses.
Do I Need A Large Herd Of Horses
No. The beauty of this business model is that it is scalable with a small herd by having people work in groups with a horse.
Do I still receive the same certification as other Dreamwinds graduates?
Yes. Advanced Standing recognizes the education you've already completed. Upon successfully completing the Dreamwinds requirements, you'll earn the same Dreamwinds EAL Facilitator Certification and Cartier EAL Certification as every other graduate.
How long does the Advanced Standing Pathway take?
Qualifying Asbury students complete:
- Two live online mornings
- Two full in-person training days
This condensed format recognizes the education you've already completed while ensuring you receive the practical experience and assessment required for certification.
Do I Need To Have A Lifetime of Horse Experience
You need safe handling experience, not decades in the saddle. It's important that you are confident to lead others who may be afraid and have no horse knowledge.
Do I Need To Be or Work With A Therapist
No. This is an objective based learning model, NOT therapy. The program focuses on developing critical life skills.
That said, many licensed mental health professionals are successfully using our foundational curriculum in their practices.
Why do I need another certification if I'm already completing an Asbury degree?
Your Asbury education provides an excellent academic foundation, including facilitation experience and a strong understanding of Equine Assisted Services.
